Tonight, after we put all the kids down for bed and Mark and I were tired, Adam asked for a bedtime story. I told him it was too late, but felt a little guilty since it was only 7:30. I couldn't think of any off the top of my head, so I told him about Captain Moroni and his Title of Liberty (I know, not really what he was looking for, but I couldn't think and I had just read about). After the story I asked him, "Do you know why Heavenly Father protected the Nephites?" He said he didn't know so I told him, "The Nephites obeyed Heavenly Father and Jesus and so they helped the Nephites out." To which Adam replied, "I don't need Heavenly Father and Jesus' help." "Why not?" "Because I can fight bad guys with my dad!" Maybe next time he'll get the whole faith concept.

Adam seems to think that he is a Spy Super-Hero Agent and can fight Bad Guys. The other day he would only respond to Spy. He also thinks that every landscaper is out to get him. I made the mistake of pointing to a landscaper when teaching him about strangers. I told him that strangers are people we don't know and pointed to the landscapers at a neighbors house. I said, "Those guys are strangers because we don't know them." Ever since he thinks they are going to take him and won't go outside if there are any landscapers on our street. However, he assures me that he can fight those bad guys if they tried to take him. My lesson on strangers didn't go as planned since he missed the point.
